HP to introduce touch-screen notebooks
According to a DigiTimes report, HP plans to introduce a notebook featuring touch-screen technology by the end of this year.

Dell M6400 Covet workstation now available
Dell today introduced the Precision M6400 Covet workstation, which has an orange paint job and $3,859 price tag. Key features include a 17-inch WUXGA LED-backlit display, Intel Core 2 Duo/Extreme processors, dual-channel DDR3 memory, RAID0 or RAID 1 hard drive configurations or an SSD, and Nvidia QuadroFX 3700M graphics with 1GB VRAM.
AMD Q3 loss declines
Although AMD reported a loss in Q3, it was significantly less than in previous quarters. The Q3 net loss of $67 million is small compared to the $396 million lost in the same quarter last year, and the $1.189 billion loss in Q2 this year. In addition, revenue was up 15 percent.
Quanta not getting Acer netbook orders
DigiTimes reports that Acer will be sending its orders for 15 million Aspire One netbooks to Compal Electronics and Wistron instead of Quanta, the world's largest notebook maker.
Acer shipped between 2.2 million and 2.3 million Aspire One netbooks in Q3 this year; the company has a shipment goal of seven million units this year.
